PIFF... Prologue
It was the 1st week of Jan and I saw it somewhere, may be on the net or on a street hoarding. In case u r wondering what i saw, its the PIFF add that i am talking about.
PIFF 7-14th Jan
for those of u who are wondering What the FCUK is PIFF, its Pune International Film Festival (8th yr this time).
I alwez wanted to see it from last 2-3 yrs, but dont really know why i never attended it. I love movies, absolutely of any kind, as a movie lover i dont have much expectation from any movie, i m happy if the 2/3 hrs are gone without any boredom, thats it, i m well satisfied with that movie.
(unlike some of my frnds who dint even like 3 Idiots, why? becos there was no real logic in that film. For instance, how can Aamir study under someone else's identity or how can he make a helicopter fly in mere one day or how he sucks a baby out with a vacuum cleaner.... anywez, thats a completely different topic and i think it deserves a different post itselt, read it more about that Here.)
So i was planning to attend it, but then forgot about it meanwhile. Suddenly one day, i was talking to my cousin and he mentioned that he was gonna attend it, and planning to get the passes. Oh sit, i had completely forgotten that i also wanted to be there to kill some time.
Thats it, on 6th eve, i left the office, went to E2 to collect the passes, but the counter was closed. The guard asked me to come next day. So there i was again, on 7th eve, this time a little earlier. Thankfully registration counter was open, but not so thankfully there was a long queue.
QUEUE, we are used to it, we break it, we make it, but its all there. Go for a dinner, go for a bus, go to a public toilet, got to a movie its there, inviting u with open arms, "come, join me my frnd". I think the only place we dont need to be in a queue is when we are entering this world, yup, thats the only place where we are the only one there waiting to come out (of course, if u r a twin or a triplet or whatever then i guess the QUEUE starts right from the birth.
So, there i was, in a queue, waiting for the lady to stamp my pass. Most of the ppl standing in the queue were students, i guess they had nothing else left in their life than to spend their entire week in a film fest. Well, i guess they deserve it. Everyone needs a break from assignments, nerdy professors, exams, practicals and what not.
Now i was halfway through the line and somebody shouted that photograph is a must. Thankfully, i had mine with me, even there was a webcam which wud photograph the applicants.
But that was not the problem, the real problem was, i was there to collect passes for my other 2 frnds as well. I called one of them and he suggested me to ask the PIFF counter lady to find his on ORKUT.
Yeh, like she had nothing else to do than search his profile on orkut and get his pic, like he was Brad Pitt or something, thousands of pics uploaded on net, with over a million fan following, and the PIFF lady one of them. I knew, he was in his best insane forms ever. Ya, he does that once in a while, thats his specialty, comes once a month lasts few days and cycle repeats. The only option left was to collect mine and to come back for 2 other passes the next day.
So now i go to the counter, hand over my id and photo to the lady, and she asks me, r u working sir? Hell yes, lady, what do u expect, do u want me to be a student in Jr. KG?
Well i mean, i look much younger, but thats because i have maintained myself that way, "Roj mai Santoor sabun se nahata hu, isse meri umar ka pata nahi chalta hai"
(by d way, that was a joke...)
So, finally i got my pass. I was all set for 3 days of fun. 3 days, cos, i planned a movie on fri eve and then on sat n sun. I was not sure whether i wud be able to go n see any movies in weekdays.
So i had planned to see 3-4 movies each on sat and sun. But that was just a plan, now how it turned out, u will get to know in my next post. I will also post my reviews of the movies i had seen in the fest.

You gave a good thought about Queuing Theory. The only place you mentioned that do not require a QUEUE (with few exception like twin, triplet & whatever...) comes much later, before that too one needs to stand (literally run!) first in a queue of 3 million sperms!!!
